City Disease Prevention & Health Promotion Programs
The goal of the City of Hartford Department of Health and Human Services’ disease prevention and health promotion division is to prevent infectious/communicable diseases and promote health and wellness to the residents of Hartford. Services offered include sexually transmitted disease clinics, free and confidential HIV testing, flu clinics, and health screenings. City health offices are located on the first floor of the Burgdorf/Bank of America Health Center.

Connecticut AIDS Drug Assistance Program

The Connecticut AIDS Drug Assistance Program can help pay for FDA-approved HIV-related drug treatments. There is no asset limit, but the income limit is 400% of the Federal Poverty Level. Physician verification of HIV/AIDS and proof of Connecticut residency are also required. CRT’s HIV Counseling Services
CRT offers HIV testing, education and counseling for people who are living with HIV or who are at risk of infection.

Latino Community Services offers confidential HIV counseling and testing, including a rapid HIV test with same-day results. Testing and referrals for hepatitis C and sexually transmitted diseases are also provided.
